Press Statement

It has become necessary to make the following statement in view of the report published on May 17, 2015 in Bugün newspaper with the headline “1800 Directors Will Be Recruited Without An Exam.”

1. The Ministry of National Education is carrying out all court decisions relating to the appointments of branch directors.

2. Claims that educational specialists are being appointed deputy director of education in provinces without taking any exams means all provincial deputy directors of education and all township directors of education should be removed from duty which is absurd.

3. Besides there is no condition that deputy national education directors in provinces should take exams to be appointed. The appointments are carried out according to Article 68 of the Law of State Civil Servants No.657.

4. News that 1800 persons will be appointed as provincial and township education directors is completely false. There are 919 township deputy director and 291 provincial deputy director positions in our Ministry and their total does not add up to 1800.

5. As the false report claims such an subject was never raised at the consultations meeting of the provincial education directors.

6. The deputy directors of education in provinces who are acting in their positions are being appointed according to the laws and regulations that govern the issue.

As the news suggests the report prepared by Bugün newspaper is a part of the lies and smear campaign being carried out by the newspaper and its counterparts in the media.

We respectfully inform the public.
