Minister of Education Yusuf Tekin said "I want to condemn Israel which has committed a war crime by nakedly violating the right of life which is the highest on the list of basic human rights."

 

The minister invited the United Nations (UN) and all other international organizations to make efforts to stop Israeli crimes in Gaza and said the United Nations Security Council, the International Court of Justice, the declerations of the Hague, the Geneva Treaty and the other Lax Leta documents that are designed to secure world peace should all be activated to declared Israel as a war criminal. He declared "doing this is a duty for all humanity."

 

Minister Tekin quoted the report prepared by UN Special Rapporteur for Israel Francesca Albanese. He said the rapporteur had quoted a Palestinian child who asked "why are we lesser human beings? Are we less valuable than others?" The minister said "now I am asking the members of the UN which was founded in1945 to preserve peace: Do you have a response for this child? Do we have the strength to discuss education for peace or dowe have any principles to defend human rights and freedoms?

 

Tekin said there is an international expectancy foır the UN and its affiliates to be pulled out of the control of a limited number of countries and become effective in a democratic and representative manner. He said "for us to talk about education for peace you must establish a just international order.  The events that are being experienced in Gazza are not a humanitarian crisis. They are a crime against humanity. First, we have to establish justice for peace so we can talk about calm and tranquility. If you have peace and tranquility, then you have education." Tekin called on humanity to take concrete steps to establish peace.

 

The minister said "We witness children denied the right to live" while the international community is holding meetings for "education for peace" and the right of children for education.

 

The minister said the world is confronted with a variety of serious global problems ranging from the wars in Palestine and Ukraine, famine, hunger, racism and climate change. He said Israel's attacks in Gaza means that Israel's rights of justice, equality, religion and belief is null and void.
