Minister Avcı who attended the İmam Hatip Schools Festivities at the Eskişehir Atatürk Sports Hall said people do not have proper information on what kind of an education is provided at the İmam Hatip secondary and high schools. The minister asked the students and their parents to explain to everyone what the real picture is and added;

“Tell people explicitly what you do at these schools continuously because people do not know about your schools. That is why the public has a very wrong idea about your schools. We have seen too many examples about this.  Certain people in Turkey think the İmam Hatip Schools just train students to become the personnel of the Religious Affairs of Turkey yet these schools also educate students for the universities”

Minister Avcı said the barriers preventing İmam Hatip graduates entering universities and the dressing codes which were against them have all been lifted.

Minister Avcı then presented gold coins, strategy game “mangala”, the Safahat poem book by Mehmet Akif Ersoy and a book about Eskişehir to the winners.
