Grand educational investments in İzmir

That means 49 nurseries were added. Previously the primary and secondary schools were merged so in those days while we had a total of 892 now we have 704 primary and 459 secondary schools which make a grand total of 1163 schools.  The schools we are to inaugurate are not included in this figure. The same goes for high schools. We used to have a total of 92 high schools now we have 111. There were no sports high schools we opened them. There was no social sciences high school now we have three. We are experiencing very good developments regarding vocational high schools.  We had 153 vocational high schools now we have 298. There were no Anatolian high schools among them now there are six. There were no music and performance arts schools we opened one. There were no music and ballet schools we opened one. Guidance and research centers were three now there are eleven.

More comfortable classes with fewer students

Despite all the developments Minister Avcı said they do not regard these investments as adequate and said the number of schools and educational establishments will be increased with the contributions of the state and the donations of the citizens and addressed the students saying “we are working day and night to provide more comfortable classes with fewer students, schools with workshops, laboratories, sports facilities.”
